finally blessed to see someone define proshipper instead of just shouting "theyre evil dont talk to them"
but again the phrasing isnt ideal. the person said
someone who thinks its morally okay to enjoy problematic content
ENJOY though?
i have a friend who cant watch rape scenes in movies, and if i know a movie has one ill tell (them) that it has one. (their) most common reaction is to not watch it at all, especially if the character carries it with them for ther rest of the film. but if its just mentioned as something that happened in the past, or the rape is shown as part of a series of terrible things and not the sole focus, (they) might be able to sit through it i guess.
me? ive seen rape scenes that are horrifying, but im still watching because i dont need to turn away. like sure, its upsetting to watch, horrifying even, but im not medically triggered.
there IS actually something im medically triggered by. in the true original sense of the word. in the case of my friend who cant watch rape scenes, its none of my business to know exactly why and how it upsets her and to what degree. but in my own head, where I know the manner and extent of everything that goes on, i can go in up to my elbows and root around.
there's no fucking way im going to reveal what my number one worst trigger is on a freaking public blog post, but i hope readers can get the message that at times i have gone in blind and had to stop watching. even among friends who i trust. i've had to be like, guys, i love you, but this is too much. im tapping out.
I'm actually hungry so I'm gonna go do breakfast and maybe come back later. To be continued?????????
